Some more progress! Lines don’t even really matter, since they probably will get painted over- etc etc. I’m definitely trying a slightly different coloring method for this, as I’m trying to find what I’m most comfortable with! I really love the organic and happy accidents that can happen while painting over lineart, all on one layer. I think that’s especially great in achieving a certain look for a painting. This time, I think I may try masking and free-painting. Thing is, I don’t use masks often. I need to do this more. *sagely nod*
And two, there will be a video for this! …Or at least I hope- I found a very awesome screen-recorder for Mac($6, compared to the $40 for Hypercam3 on Windows, oh the Windows-manity!), and I’ve starting recording. Thing is, it punts out I believe Quicktime format files, which sometimes Sony Vegas loves, sometimes it hates. Though, if that won’t work I’ll just figure it out and render it in the in-box Mac software. I would JUST do that, but I don’t have a ton of space for movie editing left on my Mac sadly, and it’s spitting out 540 MB files for about a half-hour of painting, heh.
So yeah! Should be a video up of this when done, sped up of course. And I finally set up the Youtube channel too… which, Google is really adamant about trying to make you use Google+. It was pretty hidden on how to get a normal Youtube name set up, but success! I’ll post that here when it has its first video uploaded.:)
Oh hey! Old artwork I just happened upon. From like, March. :D I think he was just a tiny margin sketch. Negative side to non-spiral sketchbooks haha.
Currently!
I haven’t been updating as much as I could be. I hope to definitely remedy this!
Right now, I’m currently freelancing/pro-artist-bono-ing(it’s a thing, I swear!) some art for an Indie game. It is a top down zombie shooter. Exciting, right? Hopefully everything goes to plan, and I can get everything done. I have been learning a lot of things about working with someone, that I have not truly known before. I have basically learned the key to this- revising! But it’s all in good fun.
And then there’s the whole thing of where I am also in the rough stages of developing my own game. I’m quite excited by it! Right now, it is best described as kind of an SNES-RPG-style game, with a not-so-average plot and some art nouveau inspired architecture, for certain. And some other ornate architecture styles, which means I’ll be spriting until pixels take over my sleep possibly. But I’m excited anyhow!
Lastly, I am hoping to get back into my daily sketch groove. That, combined with practicing guitar every day. Right now, it needs some serious tuning- so does the art!
